First off I just came back from ShadyMaple Schmorgasbord in beuatiful Lancaster & it was soooooo goooood ! ! !

I am trying new things with my camera , like these of my cats eating ...

I was trying for a timelapse kind of thing ...

Also found this on the inter web - I didn't make it but it made me laugh my sexy ass off !

Damn it of course a third maybe of the cat pics was cut off , damn live journal damn pixles damn Botox !!!!

Went to see Bangcock dangerous with Nic Cage with a couple of friends yesterday . The movie was very true to the original - probably cause unlike many other movies that get remade for a different worldmarket the original directors stayed on with this this one . If you liked the original you'll love this one !
After ward spontaneously took a stroll down a not so traveled part of the river bank & found a bit of neat wildlife & an odd old structure . Was probably some kind of water pump at one time .
Then went to a very old house that is owned by a friend . Apparently they once had a psychic lady go through there who said there are no spirits or whatnot in there . People who have spent the night there beg to differ . No one is living there right now so we checked it out . Had an audio recorder that did pick up several times loud breathing - although the recorder was out of reach of any of us while on. Also sat a flash light on the floor of the attic (off) & asked for a sign , if they could turn it on . While asking other questions we all looked away from the light to one wall for some reason & when we turned it turned on ! Then while I was asking if they could turn it off it turned off ! It turned on again when asked so we vacated the attic . Got this on video too btw . Went to the basement . Sat the flashlight down way out of our reach again with all the lights out - while talking I felt a chill of cold air rush by my left side then the light turned on & this time pointed in a different direction than when we laid it down .
We had no results on the other floors of the building besides one person hearing their name called once . The owners of the place are happy now that someone else has had odd experiences in there & it is not just them :)
Although nothing close to a ghost movie these results were much much more than I ever expected .
Last some pics from the river bank :

Cicadas are LOUD !

  • Aug. 29th, 2008 at 11:12 PM

Came home the other day to a huge cicada lounging near my deck ... making a racket that could wake the dead ! I took some pics before I nudged him & he flew right toward my face before moving on to annoy some random neighbor with his 385 DB mating call .

Blood Meridian , or The evening Redness in The West by Cormac McCarthy

So back when No Country For Old Men was all the rage a lot of talk was going around about Cormac McCarthy's other books . I picked up Blood Meridian .

I thought his style of writing took a little getting used to . He does not use quotations in conversations & will have entire conversations in spanish & while describing every plant & cloud & smell & breeze can sometimes forget important things resulting in other pages & scenes being vague or even confusing .

The good part is that he makes a western that is nothing like the traditional cowboy movies & is a brutal tale of survival in the 1850's along the mexican border about a boy who joins up with a band of scalp hunters with some very odd & well fleshed out characters . It was very violent but it all went along with the craziness of the time . Honestly I don't think there was one person in this book you call a good guy .

There are some scenes that are so intensly violent & depraved that you feel a little dirty & shaken after reading them . This was a turbulant time , you had the Civil War - (Yay North!) the Gold Rush the USA / mexican War , Indian War, among other things going on all at once in a lawless unforgiving frontier . The Dahmer Party have nothing on what goes on in this book .

I still have mixed feelings on this book but Cormac managed to ingrain images in my mind that effected me on a level books rarely do , so that is something in itself .

DEATH RACE

Checked out the updated version of Death Race 200 from the 70's today . Yes it was over the top & cheesy but my god this movie kicked ass ! This could have easily been so bad & a junker of a movie but they pumped out an action packed violent hardcore piece of work that drew us in with the first scene (with David Caradine voicing Frankenstien 1) & just didn't let up after . Gore - laughs - action - it was nuts ! Gets 5 out of 5 screaming skulls on my list .

Fun Time Is Over !

  • Jul. 21st, 2008 at 12:45 AM

So Emmy & I are done with vacation & have to go back to shity work(s) - Boooo !

It was a realxing week though I have to say . I have already mentioned the shore & the Bodies Exhibit ...

Spent some time & $ at KP Mall

We went to see Hellboy 2 The Golden Army & that was cool as shit & funny too - I love Hellboy & can't wait for a 3rd movie ! Saw the new Batman movie too - I have to say that was totaly different from anything Heath had done before & he was impressive . It was bleak stark mean & gritty - nothing like Tim Burton's Batman movies at all .

We decided to go to Fort Mifflin when the weather cools down a bit .

We went horseback riding again too ! This time they gave me a HUGE horse named Eve - I know ... Adam & Eve ... She used to be a carriage horse in NY City & listened to me very well . She does not like to be left behind & when Emma's horse who was in front got too far ahead Eve would suddenly do a quick troot to catch up . It was cool . We will probably do more of this in the future .

I din't take a hole lot of pictures over the week - the weather turned so hot & humid that going to alot of the spots I want to take photos at just would have been agony & Emmy has been sick the last couple of days too .

I will make up for it I swear !

I am feeling good right now - work has been stressing me out lately . It's an easy job I know - but the people have realy been getting to me . I don't understand how some people can go through life being so rude stupid dirty filthy useless & inconsiderate ?!

Well I am done rambling now ...

Shore leave

  • Jul. 17th, 2008 at 11:36 PM

Went to Atlantic City spur of the moment yesterday . Turned out the "Bodies" exhibit was there - what a bonus ! Alot of the other things we wanted to see were closed 15 minutes before we got to them though . Still nice to get out of the area for a day - even though it was Jersey :( These laughing gulls are pretty & every where & are cute as the dickens for 5 minutes then become a royal pain the ass for ever !

Glow stick + cat = bad !

  • Jul. 13th, 2008 at 1:52 AM

So I wasn't looking & Lilly got her little fangs on one of those light up glow sticks . The room was dark & I hear her make a weird sound & turn around & see her mouth lit up ! She ran away under the bed leaving a trail of light drops like the wounded Predator ! She was clearly not happy & her mouth kept making a thick drool substance . It was freaky ! Emma rinsed her mouth out while I made some frantic calls . After much panicing we found out that it was a reaction to the only real bad effect of the stuff - very bad taste ! Here is a link on this situation if you ever need it :

http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pro_apcc_ask_misc&s_state=glowjewelry

I have had these things around before & they never went after the sticks - I feel real bad but now that she is cleaned up & had some tasty food & calmed down she seems back to her normal self ! :)

She has done some weird things before that we would not have expected . Like a while back Emma had some yellow lillys in a vase on top of the entertainment center - they are not supposed to be good for cats but they never went up there . Emma is in the kitchen & hears a noise - comes out to find Lilly has knocked the lillys on the floor & was rolling around them to the point her fur was yellow !

Man how am I supposed to sleep now ?!

Cougar pic of the day !

  • Jun. 29th, 2008 at 8:30 PM

We went with friends (yeah we have those) to a kind of local zoo & I took a lot of nice pics . Personaly I think this one was the best ! I posted a few more on my myspace account too .

I just worked a tiring hectic week at work & got one day off before doing anouther one so I have been tired & all - but today was fun & made me happy !

Vacation time commin up !

  • Jun. 25th, 2008 at 9:45 AM

Emmy & I are taking time off from work so we are on vacation the week of the 13th till the 20th of July . We do not have any set in stone plans besides not going to work so far . If anyone wants to see us or do anything let me know ! Breakfast at Shady Maple will be a priority for one day I do know that !

Some ideas we have bounced around :

Fort Mifflin - as seen on Ghost Hunters , Gettysburg , Washington D.C. , Hawk Mountain ... I know there are other things but my mind is sleepy right now . Our ideas are mostly things we have not been to before & are not all that far away & hopefully get us outside & good photo oppurtunities .

Weird week ahead + a new pic !

  • Jun. 19th, 2008 at 11:09 AM

Work is weirder than normal next week .

I will be off Sunday & Monday . Tues. through Fri I will be closing all 4 days so I will only be free in the mornings :(

So if anyone is looking for me or wants to do sumthin - that is what's goin on .

Moooovie review :

adam f oni
Movie Review ...
We just got back from The Happening from M. Knight Shalamalamadingdong & my opinion is ... I will wait for dvd for his next movie - if I see it at all . It was basically a mix up of ideas from at least a dozen other movies . Not all that creative or well thought out & just leaves you with a BLAH feeling ...
When they are supposed to be way out away from Philly they are actually in Limerick not all that far from Philly BTW ... I guesse Mr. S dosn't want to film more than an hour's drive from home - like George Romero .

WWII Airshow pics !

  • Jun. 13th, 2008 at 10:59 PM

This is the 3rd year straight I have checked out the annual WWII themed airshow in Reading . It's been a great experience for me each time I have attended . ! There are plenty of aircraft vehicles re-enactors & guests . We went on Friday - slow day for it - but that gave veterans more time to sit in the shade & tell us their stories . Since I was little I enjoyed listening to veterans tell their war stories . I can read the books - see the movies - but hearing it from the horse's mouth is the best ! I find it especially important now when you consider the age of the average WWII veteran & realize that they won't be around forever .
BTW is is really nice to see so many young people there dressed up in period clothes & so interested in this great part of history !

As usual there like 2 dozen pics from this on me MySpace page ... myspace.com/tastyfetus

Crime in Philly/local news rant

  • Jun. 2nd, 2008 at 12:33 AM

I try not stir up alot of controversy anymore but I just had to get this off my chest :

So I am lookin at the news - there is a big deal about some home invasion robberies in Philly . Now why the big deal ? It's in an upscale neighborhood . They ask some of the people in the area their thoughts on this - first lady says she is certain their mayor will come up with a solution, the next guy says he blames the economy for robberies ... Next they say that people in the area are arming themselves & they show a shot of a glass display filled with ... pocket knives ! Oh & just to clear things up - what these guys do is - one waits out front in the getaway vehicle (a black SUV) while the other goes into the house while someone is home & threatens them with a gun making them give him the best things there to steal - then they get away .

My thoughts on this :

1 It is only a matter of time before these idiots kill someone because they don't want to get jobs.

2 The economy? This isn't a new thing - actually crime in Philly is on the down slope - though you'd never know it watching the local news.

3 Waiting for the mayor to save you ? The mayor is against law abiding people being armed &/or defending themselves .

4 Pocket knives ?! I carry a pocket knife alot but not for defense, I carry one because things need cuttin . It's not a home defense option. Even Mace might be an option but then carrying mace (popular self defense tool for women & handicapped people) is a felony in some areas.

Just so everyone knows I have had a home invader situation . From that & other expiriences I have had in the past this is an important subject for me .

I figured I'd also post a very good article that centers on Philly crime & brings up some alarming facts about the justice system :

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/WalterEWilliams/2008/05/21/control_criminals_not_guns

Every time there's a highly publicized shooting, out go the cries for stricter gun control laws, and it was no different with the recent murder of Philadelphia Police Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski. Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, in a letter to the state congressional delegation demanding reenactment of the federal assault weapon ban, said, "Passing this legislation will go a long way to protecting those who put their lives on the line every day for us. … There is no excuse to do otherwise."

Gun control laws will not protect us from murderers. We need protection from the criminal justice system politicians have created. Let's look at it.

According to former Philly cop Michael P. Tremoglie's article "Who freed the cop-killers?" for the Philadelphia Daily News (5/8/08), all three murder suspects had extensive criminal records. Levon Warner was sentenced in 1997 to seven and a half to 15 years for robbery, one to five years for possessing an instrument of crime and five to 10 for criminal conspiracy. Howard Cain was convicted in 1996 on four counts of robbery and sentenced to five to 10 years on each count. Eric Floyd was sentenced to five to 10 years in 1995 for robbery, rearrested in 1999 for parole violation and later convicted in 2001 for two robberies. If these criminals had not been released from prison, long before they served out their sentences, officer Liczbinski would be alive today. So what's responsible for his death: guns or a prison and parole system that released these three criminals? Tremoglie cites other examples of criminals, with convictions for violent crimes ranging from robbery and assault to murder, who were paroled and later murdered police officers.

A New York Times study (4/28/06) of the city's 1,662 murders in 2003-2005 found that 90 percent of the murderers had criminal records. A Massachusetts study reported that on average, homicide offenders had been arraigned for nine prior offenses. John Lott's book, "More Guns, Less Crime," reports that in 1988 in the 75 largest counties in the U.S., over 89 percent of adult murderers had a criminal record as an adult.

A few days after the murder of Liczbinski, Governor Rendell told a news conference, attended by state elected officials and top law enforcement officials, "The time has come for politicians to decide. You have to decide whether you're on their side -- the men and women who wear blue -- or whether you're on the side of the gun lobby." Instead of saying "whether you're on the side of the gun lobby," Rendell should have said "whether you're on the side of the criminal and the courts, prosecutors, prisons and parole boards that cut soft deals with criminals and release them to prey upon police officers and law-abiding citizens."

If there is one clear basic function of government, it's to protect citizens from criminals. When government failure becomes so apparent, as it is in the murder of a police officer, officials seek scapegoats and very often it's the National Rifle Association and others who seek to protect our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. We hear calls for stricter gun control laws when what is really needed is more control over criminals.

There are many third-party liability laws. I think they ought to be applied to members of parole boards who release criminals who turn around and commit violent crimes. As it stands now, people on parole boards who release criminals bear no cost of their decisions. I bet that if members of parole boards were held liable or forced to serve the balance of the sentence of a parolee who goes out and commits more crime, they would pay more attention to the welfare of the community rather than the welfare of a criminal. You say, "Williams, under those conditions, who'd serve on a parole board?" There's something to be said about that.

Thank you for your time . Now I will go back to making my normal type of blog posts !

So somehow I actaully am off from work for the entire holiday weekend. Being a retail manager :( this is unheard of - I have no clue what to! Today we went to ElmWood Park Zoo. It's a nice little zoo & affordable & very kid friendly. I got some nice pics. Here are a few, I posted much more on my MySpace account. Let me know what you think!
A peacock I thought this looked funny ...

A mommy malard & some of her ducklings - very cute !

A wild turkey vulture - not a part of the zoo !

Yesterday rocked ! My best friend Lori took me too lunch afterwards we went to Valley Forge National Park to take some pics . They turned out great ! With her looks & the particular outfit she had this kind of fairey princess thing going on & the location was perfect . Later Emmy & I went to Fridays for dinner wear I found out that plantains taste good & She was nice & bought me some new clothing items - including a black shirt with a pic of Megatron saying "Megatron for president - why vote for the lesser evil?"
Hopefully livejournal dosn't cut these up like it usualy does ...

I am very happy with how these pics turned out - for more go here

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=24663315&blogID=391123535

& let me know what you think . Oh yeah - Iron Man rocked !

Another random thing - my cat ?

  • Apr. 24th, 2008 at 10:46 PM

The vet says there are no worms in our cats & they say they are healthy , but but Lilly continues to eat more than Darkness while becoming gradualy slimmer . The vet says she is fine as far as they can tell but now when I pick her up I can feel some bones . Lilly does have a differnt body shape than Darkness - a little bit like a siamese cat . Darkness eats less yet is buff . A little background - Darkness is male & 2 years older , both are fixed . Lilly is a girl - duh !
Should I be worried or just accept that they are just different ?

Random rambling - I am good at that !

  • Apr. 24th, 2008 at 10:24 PM

Saw The Forbidden Kingdom with Jet Li & Jackie Chan - this movie rocked ! It was very rich in good kung fu action, chinese culture, & humor . It makes a good kids movie too - there were little kids there who were clapping & cheering at parts & afterwards in the lobby trying out their kung fu on each other!

Fridays has a new sandwich called the Flaming Jalapeneo Pooper Chicken Sandwhich or something like that - either way it is great ! This is one of the tastiest spicy things ever to hit these lusciouse lips of mine ! Go get one now !

I need a A kick ass design for a chinese dragon tattoo .

On an icky note : Aparently yesterday it was hot enough that the very old couple across the street saw it fit to bring the very retarded young man they take care of out in the front yard in just his tighty whities ! One of them was using a hose on the flowers & even asked him if he wanted to get wet !!!

I do hope this is not going to become a habit for them but if it does how would anyone suggest I handle it ? I mean I don't want to see this & there are little kids in the area but I don't want to come off as a dick either ?

Random pic - ME ! Taken by Josh S at ESP

Lilly thinks geckos are food not friends ( alittle cut off the side again)

An interesting cloud formation ...

Spring photo fun !

  • Apr. 19th, 2008 at 12:29 AM

Took some shots of flowering trees in a cemetery near my house . Cemeteries always have the nicest trees .

I drew the tribal marks on this bunny & placed him on the gate after a spring shower

I like how these turned out - hopefully others will too !

Well amature photography has been a side hobby of mine for a while now & I am very happy with some of the results I have come up with . While drawing is very frustrating for me I can look at something with a certain spin that my mind puts on it & can take a shot that shows how I am veiwing it . That probably made no sense but if it did to you you'd know that it is magic when that happens!

I spend more than a little time taking pics , editing pics , thinking of new pics & such I think I should try to make a little ca$h on the side with it , problem is I have no idea where to start ! I am open to suggestions ! I am entering photo contests although it seems like trying to play the lottery & the winners seem to be chosen at random .

Anyone who wants some nice pics taken of them or know of a great location or subject please contact me . The more pictures I take the better .
